There is nothing so annoying as to have two people go right on talking when you’re interrupting. ~ Mark Twain
My plan sucks. That’s the bottom line. Not late breaking news for any of us, really; but unless you have a complete absence of wisdom or absolutely zero self-awareness you know that your plan sucks, to. I think the majority of fights and arguments in marriages are waged on this battle field of wills and plans: there are one too many generals in the command tent! The difference between my relationship with my wife and with God in this aspect lies in the fact that my percent of being right is marginally higher in my marriage. With God, well… I am never right, no matter how hard I try to convince myself that I am.
God is funny, sometimes. He shouldn’t but… He chooses to exercise great patience with me. And boy, am I glad that He does! Seeing glimpses of a ridiculous plan in the light of God’s brilliance creates one of two things: jealousy or laughter. I tend to be a good sport and laugh along and aloud with the Lord. He will get me where I need to be. Also, in His Graciousness, He continues to wait for me to finally see… the true genius and beauty of a well made plan. His plan. I’m good with that!
Peace, today! SAG
Today’s Scripture: Isaiah 30:18
Therefore the LORD waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.
