“It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people’s minds.” Samuel Adams
The hope found through Godly character produced from our endurance won’t be found at the threshold of our families doors. It won’t be found in our DNA, poured into us at our birth. Godly character is poured into us when we first invite Christ into our lives. And so begins the process of God exchanging His DNA with our sinful DNA contaminated with original sin. This is only the beginning. It will get harder. This much is certain.
Part of endurance is understanding what’s at the end; part of persevering is in believing we have enough within us to see things through, not giving in, to keep on fighting. Part of finishing is embracing the character and strength being poured into us and leaning into that new power fully. It takes courage to do so and even more, it takes endurance. In Christ, we have ample supply of both. The more we endure, the greater our hope grows and the more our character will mirror and resemble His. What a great life it will be, this life of endurance! We have the strength so let us finish strong!
