C.S. Lewis: Guided On This Road

September 6

“Progress means getting nearer to the place you want to be and if you’ve taken a wrong turn, then to go forward does not get you any nearer.”
~ C.S. Lewis

The weariness of traveling the path unknown takes it’s toil sooner or later. I resolve to embrace not just the weariness but the change. For change tells me that God still has much for me to do… and that’s not a bad path to be on. Walking a path of integrity can be exhaustive but it is the best of all paths… in obedience, in trust, in perseverance & endurance, this path leads to so many great things. In a moment of clarity, I know beyond any doubt that The Lord is with me and the path I stare at ahead of me suddenly looks much different. It seems – if not safer – at least far more inviting and exciting. I realize that there is still pain and difficult moments awaiting me up ahead and around those winding turns, but they do not seem nearly as impossible to recover from. Yes, I feel weary. But I also know that The Lord always gives me ample time to recover and He always renews my soul. He will always walk with me on integrity’s road.

Peace, today. Sean Gutteridge

Today’s Scripture:

Proverbs 10:9

9 Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.

Psalm 23:4

4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
