Oswald Chambers speaks of an unconsciousness to Christ that should be sought after in serving Him. Profound. So how conscious are we in serving God? How aware are we of Him even as we are serving Him?
In all seasons, I must push from the consciousness all thoughts and needs of myself or I will never sustain the good and prosperous work which He has already begun within me. Patience and endurance will not last in me for longer then a brief season unless He becomes interwoven deep into both conscious and subconscious alike until I can no longer differentiate between the two as to whether I am thinking on my Savior or not. This is the beginning of my sustaining faith for the future moments when we will face the fires together, Jesus and I. It begins in the conscious but I am praying and striving for the day when it slips into the unconsciousness and I am none the wiser simply because… He is now always on my mind and in my heart.
